AI helps me with research and structuring ideas, but it doesn’t have my experience of specific writers, music, and artists I draw from to think and work through problems, or the thoughtfulness that comes from actually living with that material over time. That perspective is mine. AI is a tool I use the way I’d use a research assistant, not a replacement for the thinking. It didn’t read Brainpickings and The Medici Effect for me to provide insight for this article and others.
That said, I’d gently push back on telling people how they should write. What matters is that the experience is mine and whether the thinking holds up, not which tools got me there.
